A shocking case of abuse has surfaced from a private rehabilitation centre near Bengaluru, where a resident was savagely beaten after allegedly refusing to wash a warden’s clothes and clean a toilet.

CCTV footage from the facility, located about 30 km from the city under Nelamangala Rural Police Limits, shows a man trapped in a room and mercilessly assaulted with a stick while bystanders watched silently. Another person later joins in, intensifying the brutal attack by dragging and beating the victim repeatedly.

Superintendent of Police (Bengaluru Rural) CK Baba confirmed that the visuals reveal clear evidence of physical assault. Though the incident occurred earlier, it gained public attention only after the disturbing video went viral.

Following the footage’s emergence, the police raided the rehab centre, arresting both the warden and the owner. A suo motu case was filed at Nelamangala Police Station, and charges include violations under the Arms Act and other applicable laws.

The case grew more serious after another video surfaced, showing a dagger being used to cut a cake during a birthday celebration at the facility. Police have arrested all individuals involved in that incident as well.

Authorities have vowed strict legal action. The case has sparked outrage over the unchecked operations of certain rehabilitation homes and renewed calls for stronger oversight and regulation of such facilities.
