Bengaluru: The Ramamurthynagar police have apprehended a sales representative for stealing laptops and pen drives from a well-known electronics showroom. The accused, R. Srinivasa (21), a resident of Kadugodi, was caught with 3 laptops and 5 pen drives valued at Rs. 1.5 lakhs. City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda disclosed this information at a press conference on Tuesday.

Srinivasa, who lived in NR Mohalla, Mysore, had been working as a sales representative at Electra Nick showroom for six months. He cited financial hardships and his mother’s health issues as reasons for his thefts. In June, Srinivasa pilfered 3 laptops and 16 pen drives from the showroom. A complaint from the showroom owner prompted an investigation by the police.

Srinivasa’s suspicious behavior during interrogation led to his confession. He admitted to selling one laptop and 11 pen drives at low prices to unidentified buyers. Authorities, led by Station Officer H. Muthuraj, later recovered additional stolen items from Srinivasa’s residence.
