A police complaint has been filed against Parvathi, wife of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, her brother Mallikarjun, and another individual regarding their alleged involvement in a scam related to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Social activist Snehamayi Krishna filed the complaint and also urged the Karnataka Governor, Chief Secretary, and Principal Secretary of the revenue department to initiate an investigation.
The complaint alleges that there was collusion involving the Mysuru district collector, government officials, Siddaramaiah, his wife, and MUDA officials in a land allotment scam. According to the activist, Mallikarjun obtained land in 2004 and transferred it to Parvathi in 2010. This land, purportedly de-notified but incorrectly classified as agricultural, has sparked controversy, as reported by PTI.

While no new FIR has been registered, an existing investigation into MUDA irregularities is ongoing. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended the transaction, claiming the compensation received by his wife was for land gifted by her brother back in 1998. However, Snehamayi Krishna argues that Mallikarjun purchased the land in 2004 and gifted it to Parvathi in 2010.
Amidst the attention garnered by the land allotment controversy, particularly noting Parvathi Siddaramaiah’s benefit from a MUDA order during the BJP’s tenure in 2021, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara has denied allegations of a government cover-up. He has ruled out the necessity for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, citing the Chief Minister’s clarification on the matter.
“We have no intention to conceal anything; our government is transparent. The Chief Minister has addressed this issue, and there is no need for further repetition,” Parameshwara stated in response to the controversies, as per reports.
