In a tragic series of incidents in Bengaluru, multiple road accidents resulted in loss of life over the past few days.
Motorcycle Crash Near IIM-B
In the early hours of Friday, a 39-year-old software engineer, Raghupathi, lost his life after his motorcycle collided with a water tanker near the IIM-B campus. Originally from Tamil Nadu and residing in Benniganahalli with his wife and three-year-old child, Raghupathi was returning from a visit to a friend in Begur around 1 am when the accident occurred. The tanker was reportedly making a turn on Bannerghatta Road. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead by 7 am.
Scooter Accident
On Thursday night, another accident occurred at the Nayandahalli railway underpass around 11:50 pm. Two men on a scooter, identified as Shivu and Gopalakrishna, crashed into a cement pillar. Both sustained head injuries; however, Shivu succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Friday.
Delivery Executive Fatality
In a separate incident on Friday afternoon, a 42-year-old delivery executive, Anjaneya Gowda, was killed when a canter truck collided with his two-wheeler near the Marappanapalya skywalk, close to Yeshwantpur metro station. The truck, driven by Kiran, was transporting Ganesha idols when the accident occurred around 2 pm. Gowda died at the scene, and Kiran has since been detained by police.
Traffic Disruptions
Earlier that morning, a 16-wheeler truck veered off course while traveling from Nagawara to Hebbal, crashing into metro barricades near Venkatam Café opposite Nagawara lake. This accident caused significant traffic delays for several hours.
