Bengaluru: Madiwala police have arrested six people, including a rowdy-sheeter, in connection with the alleged murder of medical shop owner Syed Suhail on Madiwala Main Road on Saturday night.
Six accused arrested
The accused have been identified as Adil Kamal, 35, Yasin Shariff, 22, Abbas Shariff, 24, Afivuallah, 26, Shan, 23, and Syed Farhan, 24. All are residents of Mangammanapalya.
According to police, Suhail was travelling home when he stopped at a traffic signal on Madiwala Main Road. The accused, who were reportedly riding two-wheelers, allegedly surrounded him and attacked him with machetes before fleeing.
Police trace accused near airport road
A murder case was registered and three special teams were formed to trace the suspects.
Based on technical evidence, police reportedly located the accused near Kempegowda International Airport Road on Sunday night. They were allegedly planning to flee to Mumbai when they were taken into custody.
Murder suspected to be revenge attack
Police suspect the killing was linked to an earlier murder case involving Suhail’s brother.
According to the investigation, Suhail’s brother had been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Shabbir in Bandepalya in January. Shabbir was reportedly a close associate of Adil.
Police suspect Suhail had provided financial assistance in that murder and believe the latest killing may have been carried out as an act of revenge.
Investigators suspect Adil and his associates planned the attack. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances and roles of those arrested.
