Bengaluru: AkosMD India has started rolling out its Smart Clinic model across corporate campuses in Bengaluru and Mumbai, marking its first coordinated expansion into major metropolitan markets.

The corporate health-tech platform plans to deploy more than 50 Smart Clinics across metro cities during its initial phase, bringing physical healthcare facilities and connected digital consultations closer to employees.

Smart Clinics combine technology with care

The Smart Clinic model combines an on-campus healthcare setup with connected diagnostic devices and video-based consultations.

Bluetooth-enabled equipment, including blood pressure monitors, glucometers, ECG devices, pulse oximeters, thermometers and digital weighing scales, captures an employee’s vital readings. The information is then added to the employee’s electronic medical record before a doctor joins the consultation.

Moving beyond conventional teleconsultation

AkosMD Founder and CEO Amit Kumar said conventional teleconsultations often depend heavily on symptoms described by patients, without real-time clinical measurements.

According to Kumar, the Smart Clinic addresses this limitation by ensuring that doctors have access to vital health information when the consultation begins.

The company also aims to use the model to identify workforce health risks earlier rather than waiting for them to emerge through insurance claims.

Bengaluru among first markets

Mumbai and Bengaluru were selected as initial markets because of their large corporate workforces and demand for digital healthcare solutions.

Mumbai provides access to sectors including BFSI, consulting, logistics, pharmaceuticals and media, while Bengaluru offers a strong base of IT and IT-enabled services companies.

The Smart Clinic infrastructure is designed for office employees, factory workers and hybrid workforces. It can be deployed across corporate headquarters, industrial facilities and distributed campuses.

Focus on preventive employee healthcare

The expansion forms part of AkosMD’s broader focus on pre-policy risk assessment and chronic care management for corporates, insurers and third-party administrators.

The company aims to shift employee healthcare from reactive claims management towards earlier identification and management of chronic and emerging health risks.
