The deceased have been identified as Yamuna (36), wife of Mallegowda, and her brother Sudeep (34). According to preliminary investigations, Yamuna’s husband was allegedly involved in a relationship with a woman named Chaya, which led to tensions between the families.
Police sources revealed that Yamuna and Sudeep went to Chaya’s residence in Peenya to confront her regarding the alleged relationship. During the confrontation, the situation reportedly escalated into a violent altercation.

Authorities stated that the duo had allegedly entered the house armed with a knife. Fearing for his mother’s safety, Chaya’s minor son is said to have intervened. In the ensuing scuffle, the boy allegedly used the same weapon to attack Yamuna and Sudeep, inflicting multiple stab wounds.
Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene, officials confirmed.
