Global dessert brand The Cheesecake Factory Bakery has officially entered the Indian market through a strategic partnership with Bengaluru-based multi-brand company The Gourmet Cafe.

The launch marks the brand’s debut in India, tapping into the country’s growing appetite for premium dessert experiences.

55 outlets planned nationwide

The Gourmet Cafe has announced plans to open 55 outlets across India over the next four to five years. The expansion is backed by an estimated investment of $60 million, with projected revenues of ₹200–250 crore within five years as the brand scales nationally.

Following its Bengaluru launch, the company plans to strengthen its presence in the city with three to six additional outlets during 2026. Subsequent expansion will target major metropolitan markets including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, before entering emerging cities such as Chandigarh, Kochi and Coimbatore.

Over time, the brand aims to establish six to ten premium outlets in leading metro markets.

Premium dessert demand rising

Founder and CEO Masthan Adam said the move reflects strong demand in India for globally recognised dessert brands and elevated café experiences.

India’s expanding base of globally exposed consumers, rising discretionary spending and increasing preference for premium bakery formats have drawn several international brands to the country in recent years.

Known worldwide for its iconic cheesecakes crafted from original recipes and premium ingredients, The Cheesecake Factory Bakery’s entry signals growing confidence in India’s evolving food and beverage landscape — with Bengaluru once again serving as the launchpad.
