A 16-month-old boy named Rohith reportedly went missing in the early hours of Thursday while sleeping beside his father on a pavement outside Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Bengaluru. Despite relentless attempts by police over the past two days, the child remains untraceable.

Police reports state that Rohith’s father, Mukhesh, hails from Rajasthan and arrived in Bengaluru around a month ago with his family. To support them, he makes a living by selling balloons near the Shivaji Nagar bus stand. With no permanent shelter, the family would often sleep on the sidewalks near the hospital.

On Wednesday night, the family had settled down to rest—Mukhesh lay beside Rohith, while his wife and their four-year-old daughter slept a short distance away. Around 2 a.m., Mukhesh awoke to find his son gone. Alarmed, he and his wife frantically searched the area but couldn’t locate him. Hours later, they approached the local police to file a missing child report.

As part of their investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage from the surrounding locality. The clips revealed a woman lifting the sleeping boy and hurriedly leaving the scene. Authorities are now working to identify the suspect and safely recover the child.

The mysterious abduction of the toddler has left the family devastated and residents shocked. The police have assured that every possible effort is underway to locate the child and apprehend the suspect.
