BENGALURU: In a surprising turn of events, Halasur Gate police have charged two individuals, Anjanappa and Ramachandrappa, for allegedly submitting false affidavits and counterfeit Aadhaar cards to secure bail for an accused named Firdos in a case filed at the Wilson Garden police station.

Police sources report that Firdos was granted bail by the city’s Fourth Instant Special Court, with Anjanappa and Ramachandrappa serving as sureties. However, it was later revealed that they had presented forged documents, including fake Aadhaar cards and land records, to the court.

The assistant registrar of the city civil court lodged a complaint against the pair, prompting an investigation by the Wilson Garden police. The investigation uncovered inconsistencies in the documents submitted by Anjanappa and Ramachandrappa, who falsely claimed ownership of land registered in another person’s name.

Charges have been filed against both individuals under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Aadhaar Act. This incident underscores the pressing need for more rigorous verification processes in the judicial system to prevent such fraudulent activities.
