Bengaluru; Two individuals, Austin Karados and Syed Riaz, have been apprehended by the Central Police Department (CCB) in Bengaluru on charges related to fraudulent activities involving cars. The arrests were made in separate cases where the accused were involved in mortgaging unpaid cars, fabricating fake NOCs for them, and subsequently selling these vehicles to unsuspecting buyers.
The accused individuals were found to be engaged in criminal activities involving expensive luxury cars such as Range Rover and Jaguar. In one case, Austin Karados from Goa was implicated for purchasing a Range Rover car from a Mysore businessman and then manipulating its registration details before selling it to a customer in Delhi. Similarly, Syed Riaz was found to be involved in acquiring or mortgaging stolen or non-insured vehicles at low prices, fabricating false documentation indicating no outstanding loans or insurance on these vehicles, obtaining NOCs from financial institutions and banks, and then reselling the cars with manipulated identities to customers in other states.
The Commissioner of City Police B. Dayananda disclosed that more than 17 high-value luxury cars worth around Rs. 2.56 crore had been recovered during the operation.
The arrests were made following investigations into complaints filed against the accused individuals. The operation was carried out under the leadership of ACP V. Govindaraju of CCB’s Organized Crime Wing (West).
It is clear that both suspects were allegedly involved in serious fraudulent activities related to high-end luxury cars through deception and manipulation of official documents for financial gain.
As this is an ongoing investigation by law enforcement authorities, further details about potential charges will likely be revealed after due legal processes are completed.
