Bengaluru: A two-year-old boy was seriously injured after allegedly falling from the second floor of a building in Chikka Adugodi on Sunday morning, police said.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Madiwala Police Station and was captured on a CCTV camera, according to police.
Boy falls while playing outside home
According to police, the child had been playing outside his house when he allegedly climbed onto a grill. He reportedly lost his balance and fell from the second-floor level.
The boy sustained serious injuries after hitting the ground, a police official said.
Passers-by who witnessed the incident rushed to the child’s aid and took him to a private hospital for treatment.
Child undergoing ICU treatment
The boy was admitted to the hospital, where he was undergoing treatment in the ICU, police said.
The incident was captured on CCTV, which is expected to assist authorities in understanding the circumstances surrounding the fall.
Police said further investigation was underway.
The incident has also highlighted the need for close supervision of young children, particularly around grills, balconies, windows and other elevated areas where accidental falls can occur.
