A video from Bengaluru’s Koramangala, captured during New Year’s Eve celebrations, has sparked outrage on social media. The clip, now viral with over 15 million views on Instagram, shows a seemingly intoxicated woman falling to the ground, struggling with two female security officials, and kicking in the air.
The incident, set against the backdrop of a bustling street, attracted a sizable crowd, many of whom recorded the event. In the footage, security personnel in neon jackets and a policeman are seen nearby, but they refrain from intervening directly. The woman, after falling, tries to stand but eventually lies on the road, continuing her erratic behavior.
While the video gained significant attention, it has also drawn criticism for violating the woman’s privacy. Social media users condemned the act of filming and uploading the clip without her consent. Comments called for more empathy, with one user stating, “People should resolve to be kinder and more responsible instead of exploiting such moments for likes.”
Another comment read, “Recording someone’s vulnerability is not entertainment. Have some humanity.” Others echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of respecting personal boundaries, especially in moments of distress.
This incident highlights the growing conversation about consent, privacy, and the ethical use of social media during public events.
