The fifth edition of the ‘Vishva Kundapra Kannada Day’ will be held on August 17 and 18 at Bengaluru’s Palace Grounds. This year, the event was moved to the Palace Grounds to accommodate a larger number of participants.
Previously, four ‘Kundapra Kannada festivals’ were held at Bantar Sangha in Vijayanagar. Deepak Shetty Barkoor, President of the Kundapra Kannada Foundation, emphasized the importance of broad participation in this celebration.
The program’s outline was crafted during the preliminary ‘Valga’ event organized by the ‘Kundapra Kannada Pratisthan, Bangalore.’ The two-day festivities commenced with a vibrant procession (‘dibna’) originating from various parts of the city. Attendees enjoyed the melodious coastal songs known as ‘Nak Ghana Surl.’ The inauguration ceremony featured the traditional ‘Nudi Chavadi’ program. Additionally, Bengaluru witnessed the first-ever ‘Jodata’ performance on the night of the 17th, featuring talented artists from Yaksharang. Notably, directors and stars from the Kannada film industry graced the occasion.
Among the distinguished guests were Music Director Ravi Basruru, Cinematographer Pramod Maravante, Honorary President of the Kundapra Kannada Foundation Udayakumar Hegde, Vice President Narasimha Beijadi, Secretary Raghavendra Kanchan, Treasurer Vijay Shetty Halladi, Joint Secretary Ajith Shetty Ulthur, Founder Director of Universal Group of Institutions R.
