A shocking video from Bengaluru’s Yelahanka New Town has sparked outrage online, showing a helmet-clad woman verbally abusing traffic police officers in the middle of a busy road.

The incident occurred on Thursday when the woman confronted officers, creating a scene that quickly drew public attention. In the one-minute, 17-second clip circulating on social media, she can be heard shouting profanities in Hindi at the officers, accusing them of touching her staff member’s T-shirt. She went on to hurl derogatory remarks at a female traffic officer, making threatening and indecent comments.

While the reason for her aggressive behaviour remains unclear, the video’s widespread circulation triggered condemnation from netizens. Many criticised the lack of respect shown towards law enforcement, questioning how ordinary citizens might be treated if such conduct is directed at police.

Social media users, including one named Rupesh Ranjana, tagged the Bengaluru Police and Bengaluru Traffic Police, demanding strict action. Another account, Karnataka Update, called it a “shameless display of arrogance” and a reminder of the erosion of respect for authority.

Following the online uproar, Yelahanka New Town Police confirmed that a case had been registered on August 14, 2025. The woman was taken into custody, and an investigation is underway in accordance with legal procedures. Authorities have reiterated that verbal or physical attacks on police personnel will not be tolerated.
