Bengaluru: A young man from North Karnataka was found dead near an under-construction building at Subbamma Circle in JP Nagar, with his parents suspecting that he was assaulted and killed.

The deceased, identified as Madevaswamy, worked as a delivery executive with an ice-cream company and lived with his parents near the area.

He left home for birthday party

According to his family, Madevaswamy left home on the night of the incident, saying he was going to attend a friend’s birthday party.

When he failed to return home, his parents called him. He reportedly told them that he would return shortly. However, his body was found the following day near the construction site.

Parents suspect relationship angle

Madevaswamy’s parents told police that he was in a relationship with a woman from the neighbourhood and that her family had opposed the relationship.

Based on their complaint, the parents have alleged that members of the woman’s family could have assaulted and killed their son.

“We suspect that our son was attacked and killed by the girl’s family. A thorough investigation should be conducted and justice should be delivered to our son,” the parents stated in their complaint.

JP Nagar police investigate

Following the complaint, JP Nagar police registered a case and launched an investigation. Police said they are examining the case from various angles and are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death.

The precise cause of death is expected to be known after the post-mortem examination. Following the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine what happened to Madevaswamy after he left home and the circumstances that led to his death.
