A 20-year-old woman was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances on the city’s outskirts on Monday evening.
The deceased, identified as Rakshitha L, was a resident of Machohalli, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Madanayakanahalli police station. Authorities were notified around 7 PM, after her body was found lying beside a building in the area.
A police official stated, “We suspect the time of death to be between 6 PM and 6:45 PM, but the cause remains uncertain. It may have been an accident — possibly a fall from the building. However, nothing can be confirmed until the investigation concludes.”
Following a complaint filed by her brother, the Madanayakanahalli police have registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) as per procedure. The case is being thoroughly examined to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding her death.
Forensic experts have been involved, and the area has been surveyed for any signs of foul play or accidental injury. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from nearby buildings and speaking to local residents for potential leads.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and investigators are awaiting the report to draw further conclusions.
