In a significant development, Bidar district police have cracked the murder case of Mallikarjunrao Gopalrao Kuppala, a prominent builder from Chintala, Hyderabad. The investigation led to the arrest of three individuals in Bengaluru, identified as Renuka Prasad, Varun, and Likhit Reddy, with three others currently being pursued.

The victim, Mallikarjunrao, aged 48, was brutally stabbed 21 times and his body was found near a dhaba in Talamadagi village under Mannaekhelli police station’s jurisdiction on May 25. Through diligent tracing, police established his identity and discovered that he was returning from Tambola village in Maharashtra to Hyderabad when the crime occurred.

According to Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gunti, Mallikarjunrao had amassed considerable wealth as a builder and had two daughters. Six individuals, who had befriended him, conspired to murder him with the intention of marrying his daughters and seizing his property.

The arrested suspects have been remanded to police custody for five days. Authorities seized crucial evidence, including the murder weapon, 10 tolas of gold, Rs 2 lakh in cash, an additional 5 tolas of gold, and Rs 56,000 in cash from the suspects.

The perpetrators fled the scene after the crime, prompting a swift police response and the initiation of an ongoing investigation led by Mannekelli Police in Karnataka.
