To be resilient is a prime requisite for start-up founder: Garg

Mangaluru: The eighth episode of NewsKarnataka’s definitive HR talk show, People@Work on the topic, ‘The road to become an unicorn: Secret sauce for success’ was held on Saturday December 25.

Ramesh Ranjan, Editor and Founder of HumanEngineers.com, a popular HR website that deals with managing the people side of the business hosted the event.

Special guest of the event was Saurabh Garg, Co- Founder and Chief Business Officer of Nobroker.in.

Host, in the beginning of the session questioned the guest stating HUL is the dream company for many to work on. What made you quit the company and become an entrepreneur?

Saurabh Garg said, inner calling of solving a problem and building something new is what made me begin with my own.

Answering on the essentiality of domain expertise and core competence for success he said, understanding the customers is an essential key. If one can adapt to the themes like technology and customer insights then one can solve multiple problems.

90% of searches now start online. And people unlike earlier have an option to check on nearly eight apartments in a day and shortlist the best among them online, which indeed was a norm during Covid times too, he stated on the digital competetion with physical world.

Startups are network-affected. As we come across more and more people the network enlarges and so when we become the only choice for customers then startups will be immensely profitable, he said on the risks of startup bubble bursting and valuations.

Understanding the customer insights and solving their problems will automatically bring back the customers towards entrepreneurs. To be resilient is also very important for a start up founder as there will be both ups and downs, he emphasised.

The host agreeing Saurabh’s words which stated, technology is here to stay and will disrupt real estate industries, added that it will alter the econmics of real estate and change the way the investment community operates.

Stating Future is going to be a hybrid model of ‘phyugital’ (physical + Digital) experience and will define and shape the future of real estate industry Ramesh Ranjan signed off thanking Saurabh Garg.
