Gangtok: The “Maharaja Sayajirao Lok Bhasha Samman” was conferred on renowned folk singer Padmashri Malini Awasthi by the Bank of Baroda for her significant contribution to the spread of Indian folk languages through her folk songs. This award was instituted under the name of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad III, the founder of the bank, It was conferred on her by the Bank at a special function organised by the Bank at Gangtok by Ajay K. Khurana, Executive Director of the Bank.

It may be noted that the Bank of Baroda honours a person who has made a remarkable contribution to the propagation of folk language every year. In this context, the bank conferred the award for the year 2020-21 on Padma Shri Malini Awasthi. On the occasion, Bank’s Executive Director, Ajay K. Khurana has honoured the Zonal Offices and Regional offices with the Baroda Rajbhasha Puraskar for their outstanding work in the field of official language at the bank.
Bank’s Chief General Manager (Operations) Ajay K. Khosla, Sanjay Singh, Head (Official Language and Parliamentary Committee), Punit Kumar Mishra, Assistant General Manager (Official Language and Parliamentary Committee) and other executives and official language in-charges from across the country were also present on the occasion.
Ajay K. Khurana, Executive Director of the Bank and Chief General Manager (Operations) Ajay K. Khosla and Head (Official Language and Parliamentary Committee) Sanjay Singh, were present on the dais.
