Saudi Arabia unveils Milaf Cola: date-based soda challenging global soft drink giants

At the Riyadh Date Festival, Saudi Arabia introduced Milaf Cola, a revolutionary cola made from dates, poised to challenge the global dominance of Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Developed by Thurath Al-Madina, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Milaf Cola offers a healthier alternative to traditional sodas, made with high-quality, locally-sourced dates.

Free from artificial sweeteners, Milaf Cola is naturally sweetened and rich in dietary fiber, essential minerals, and natural sugars. Unlike conventional sodas, which often contain excessive processed sugars, this innovative drink combines refreshment with health benefits. Described by one enthusiast as “like drinking sunshine,” Milaf Cola was met with enthusiasm at the festival.

Thurath Al-Madina emphasizes that the drink meets international food safety standards and promotes environmental benefits. With plans to expand production and introduce Milaf Cola globally, the company hints at more date-based beverages in development, including energy drinks.

This new competitor could disrupt the soft drink industry while offering a healthier, eco-friendly alternative for consumers.
