Food delivery platform Zomato has quietly launched a new high-protein cloud kitchen brand named Ritual, signalling a possible push into the growing health-focused food segment.

The brand is currently available in limited areas of Gurugram, with listings appearing on the Zomato app. However, its availability remains restricted and has not yet been expanded across other parts of the Delhi NCR.

Focus on protein-rich drinks and meals

The Ritual menu focuses heavily on high-protein beverages and nutritious food options aimed at health-conscious consumers. Customers can choose from categories such as plant-protein shakes, whey-protein drinks, yeast-protein shakes and protein milkshakes, along with coffee options.

In addition to drinks, the menu also features salads and light meals designed to appeal to people looking for balanced, protein-rich diets.

Many of the products use protein ingredients supplied by direct-to-consumer nutrition brands such as Wellbeing Nutrition, The Whole Truth, and SuperYou.

Partnership with restaurant operator

According to industry sources, the Ritual brand is being operated in partnership with Massive Restaurants, which runs well-known dining brands including Farzi Cafe and Louis Burger.

While Zomato is reportedly designing the menu and recipes, Massive Restaurants is believed to be handling operational aspects of the cloud kitchen.

Testing a new food category

The limited rollout suggests that Zomato may currently be testing the concept before expanding it to other cities.

Industry observers note that the move could help the company tap into India’s growing demand for healthy, protein-rich foods, particularly among fitness enthusiasts and urban consumers.

The launch also comes amid increasing competition in the online food delivery space, with platforms experimenting with specialised food categories and niche offerings to attract customers.
