Mangaluru: Four students from Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) have secured top ranks in MBA exams conducted by the Mangaluru University.
Among the MBA rank holders, first rank was secured by Megha Narasimha Nayak, third rank is shared by Raviraj Kumar and Anusha Kamath and the fifth rank is held by Anjana T.V.
Speaking to News Karnataka, Director of the Institute Dr. Molly Chaudhuri said that the 2018 – 2020 batch of students performed well despite the pandemic with the help of the teaching faculty that stayed connected with their students. “The faculty went with different approaches to ensure that the students are well educated in this time. They recorded the classes and uploaded the material and had sent it to the students through email and WhatsApp too,” she said.
Dr. Molly added that online classes on Zoom and Google meet was also conducted. “Many of our students come from rural backgrounds and for 15-20 percent of our students, connectivity is a big issue which is the reason why we decided to upload content on YouTube so that they can download at their convenience and clear the doubts with the faculty anytime,” she added.
Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management comes under the Besant Group of institutions which was started by Dr. Annie Besant in the year 1918. Out of the seven institutions which operate under this group, MSNIM was started in the year 1999 as a standalone institute affiliated to the Mangaluru University. The institute offers a two-year full-time course in Management with specialisations in Finance, Marketing and HR.
“A lot of value education courses are also added which is followed up by a teaching methodology which includes case studies, seminars, lectures, internships, and project, which were conducted until before the pandemic in March 2020,” said Dr. Molly. She added that the students had gone through an online internship also during the pandemic period.
