In a distressing incident, a 50-year-old man named Putta from Tulasikere village in Chamarajanagar district had to be carried in a makeshift ‘doli’ for nearly five kilometers to reach a hospital due to the absence of proper roads and transport facilities.

Putta, suffering from vomiting and diarrhea, was too weak to walk. With no other option, villagers transported him manually to M M Hills, where he was finally admitted to a hospital.

Tulasikere is just one of several villages lacking basic infrastructure, including roads, transport, and clean drinking water. Frustrated by the neglect, villagers staged a protest against the district administration, demanding urgent action.

Locals lamented the risks posed by the lack of connectivity, especially for school children and patients in emergencies. They expressed fear of wild animal encounters on their daily routes and emphasized the urgent need for better facilities to prevent such hardships in the future.
