In a shocking incident at Chintamani General Hospital, a 25-year-old man named Irfan has been arrested for allegedly raping a 65-year-old woman on the hospital premises. The incident occurred around 2:30 AM on Wednesday. Irfan, a resident of Hyder Ali Nagar in Chikkaballapur district, had initially come to the hospital seeking medical assistance.
The elderly woman, who resides in a nearby village, had missed her bus and sought shelter in a shed near the hospital’s oxygen plant. Around 1:30 AM, hospital staff heard noises from the shed and found Irfan attempting to molest the woman. They intervened and sent him away after issuing a warning.
However, Irfan returned about an hour later and assaulted the woman. The hospital staff caught him in the act and immediately handed him over to the police. Dr. Santosh Kumar, the hospital’s administrative officer, confirmed the incident and praised the quick response of the employees.
The elderly woman is receiving medical attention, and authorities are investigating the case further. The incident has raised concerns over safety and security measures at public hospitals.
