Six people had a miraculous escape after two cars were washed away and got stuck in a drain on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad highway near Nagarjuna College in Beedagaanahalli during heavy rain on Monday night.

The continuous rainfall caused a nearby lake to overflow, leading to the two cars being swept away while traveling on the service road. Fortunately, all six occupants managed to escape. In a previous incident, a motorcycle rider was also swept away but survived.

Muniraju, one of the car owners from Huralagurki, recounted, “The flow of water suddenly increased when we were returning from a hospital, and the car was swept away. A goods vehicle spotted us and handed us a rope, which we used to secure the car from being washed away.” About half an hour later, three young men in another car were swept into the water but successfully escaped by opening the boot of their vehicle.
