Bengaluru, Jun 4 (IANS): Kota Srinivas Poojary, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister, has secured a landslide victory in the Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency, winning by an impressive margin of 2.43 lakh votes. The Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency, one of Karnataka’s 28 parliamentary constituencies, witnessed a fierce electoral battle, with Poojary emerging as the clear winner.

Poojary’s nearest rival, Geetha Shivarajkumar from the Congress, polled 5.35 lakh votes, but fell short in comparison to Poojary’s significant lead. Expelled BJP leader and independent candidate K.S. Eshwarappa managed to secure only 30,050 votes, highlighting the dominance of mainstream party candidates in this election.

This victory marks the fourth consecutive win for Raghavendra from the Shivamogga Parliamentary seat, underscoring his strong political influence in the region. With this win, Poojary reaffirms the BJP’s stronghold in the Udupi Chikmagalur constituency and sets the stage for continued political prominence in Karnataka.
