Chikkamagaluru: In response to the escalating man-animal conflict, the Chikkamagaluru Forest Department is planning to relocate bison following the Madhya Pradesh model.

✅ Study Conducted in Madhya Pradesh: Officials visited MP to analyze the successful bison relocation from Kanha Tiger Reserve to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
✅ Human-Bison Conflict on the Rise: A recent bison attack led to a villager’s death, sparking protests in Kalasa demanding action.
✅ Government Considering Feasibility: A report has been prepared, and if approved, guidelines for relocation, equipment, and staff training will be developed.
✅ Tranquilization-Based Capture: In MP, trained teams use tranquilizers with elephant support to safely relocate bison.
