Chikkamagaluru: The Chikkamagaluru Police have arrested Riyaz Khan (54) for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing jewelry worth Rs. 28 lakh. The stolen ornaments have been recovered, and a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
Riyaz Khan, a resident of Hassan, allegedly broke into a house near Kote Layout while the owner was away. He reportedly entered the residence through the back door and stole gold, silver items, and a locker. The homeowner promptly lodged a complaint at the local police station.
Upon arresting Riyaz, the police confiscated 350 grams of gold ornaments, 1.788 kg of silver ornaments, and 4 kg of bronze utensils from his possession. It has been revealed that Riyaz Khan has a criminal history, with 17 cases registered against him under the Chikkamagaluru Town Police Station and 5 cases at the Basavanahalli police station.
