In response to increasing reports of public nuisance and reckless behavior by tourists, Chikkamagaluru police have launched a special drive targeting mass dancing on roads, open alcohol consumption, and rash driving. Sub-Inspector Renuka D.V. led the Banakal Police in booking 20 cases under the Karnataka Police Act, seizing multiple vehicles involved in these activities.
Additionally, cases were registered for public smoking and driving under the influence. These measures aim to ensure a harmonious environment for both tourists and locals, maintaining Chikkamagaluru’s reputation as a peaceful and welcoming destination.
Amathe’s call for responsible tourism underlines the community’s need to balance hospitality with safety and order. The crackdown serves as a reminder that while Chikkamagaluru remains open to visitors, respecting local norms and regulations is crucial for everyone’s enjoyment and safety.
This initiative reflects the police department’s commitment to preserving public order and safety, reinforcing that negligent and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. The special drive is expected to continue, ensuring that Chikkamagaluru remains a serene and pleasant destination for all.
