Chikkamagaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have announced a voluntary bandh (shutdown) across Chikkamagaluru district in protest against the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, and the alleged targeted killing of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru.
The organizations claim that Pakistan-supported extremists and Bangladeshi infiltrators are behind rising attacks on Hindus, citing incidents in Pahalgam and West Bengal. They allege that Suhas Shetty’s murder was a premeditated act carried out solely due to his religious identity.
In a public appeal, the VHP and Bajrang Dal have urged residents, business owners, and traders to observe the bandh and express collective outrage over what they describe as systematic attacks on Hindus. VHP district secretary Ranganath called for unity, asking people to stand in support of the community and denounce the violence.
