Chikkamagaluru: A shocking double murder has been reported near Kolagame in Chikkamagaluru, where a couple working as labourers at a coffee plantation were found dead under brutal circumstances.
The victims, identified as Basappa (55) and Lalithamma (49), hailed from Haradagere village in Gubbi taluk, Tumakuru district. The couple had been employed at Annapoorneshwari Estate near Kolagame for over 25 years. Their bodies were discovered inside their residence on the estate.
Locals alerted the authorities after finding the bodies, prompting an investigation. The writer of the estate has lodged an official complaint at the Mallandur police station. Police officials visited the scene and have registered a case to probe the circumstances surrounding the murders.
