Two textile parks are set to be developed in Chikkamagaluru district within the next three years. These parks will be located in Hiregowja and Cheelanahalli villages and will be established under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, as approved by the Department of Commerce and Industries (Textiles).

Hiregowja’s location near the national highway makes it an ideal hub for ready-made textile production and garment manufacturing. The project is expected to generate 3,000 direct jobs, with a significant portion benefiting women. Additionally, indirect employment will increase as industries take root, boosting economic activity in the region.

In Cheelanahalli, where 25 acres have been allocated for the project, officials estimate over 5,000 direct job opportunities. The initiative is also expected to accelerate the eastward expansion of Chikkamagaluru City while enhancing real estate values in the surrounding areas.
