The Karnataka BJP has strongly criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for allegedly blocking funds allocated for the Vishwagaaniga Community Trust, aimed at the development of the Gaaniga community, one of the state’s most backward groups. State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra claimed that the funds, intended for the welfare of the community, have been withheld, accusing Siddaramaiah of exploiting backward classes for votes while neglecting their actual welfare.

Vijayendra further stated that the funds meant for the Vishwagaaniga Community Trust, which focuses on the Taileshwara Gaaniga society’s upliftment, have been blocked by Backward Classes Welfare Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi. The BJP leader criticized the Congress government for presenting itself as a champion of social justice while failing to take action on such important matters.

The BJP also highlighted the contributions of Paramapujya Poornanandapuri Swamiji, a former minister and now an ascetic, who has dedicated his life to the Gaaniga community’s educational and industrial development. Swamiji, formerly known as B.J. Puttaswamy, served as a minister in the government of former CM Jagadish Shettar and was a close associate of B.S. Yediyurappa. Vijayendra called on the government to immediately release the withheld funds to honor Swamiji’s efforts and support the community’s development.
