KCO Fiesta 2024: An unforgettable musical extravaganza in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: The Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO) hosted the highly anticipated Fiesta 2024 at Abu Dhabi Country Club on Saturday, marking another grand success. Following the triumph of last year’s event, this year’s edition delighted audiences with a spectacular fusion of music, dance, and entertainment.

A night of captivating performances

The event featured a star-studded lineup of talent, headlined by the internationally acclaimed band A26. Renowned for their exceptional musicianship, A26 lived up to their reputation, keeping the audience enthralled throughout the evening. Having performed across the globe in London, Denmark, Dubai, and Muscat, their electrifying setlist ensured a memorable experience for all.

Complementing the band were a host of brilliant vocalists, including Melwin Peris, Preema Rodrigues, Anitha D’Souza, and Elrich D’Souza, who performed the KCO’s newly introduced welcome song. The multilingual musical pieces and engaging dance performances captivated the packed audience, who responded with enthusiasm and applause.

Spotlight on tradition and talent

The event opened with a prayer by Claudia Lobo, invoking blessings for the performers and attendees. Jason Correa, the Entertainment Secretary, introduced the dynamic and multitalented host Komal Jennifer D’Souza, whose charisma and engaging games ensured a lively atmosphere.

The programme included a Jive dance contest judged by Cyrila Sebastian, Julius Braganza, and Vinay Vas, with Alwyn Menezes and Sangeeta Sabharwal taking the top spot. Dance troupe Ocean Kids delivered breathtaking performances, leaving the audience in awe.

Community impact and gratitude

In his presidential address, Vivek Serrao expressed heartfelt gratitude to sponsors, well-wishers, and the audience. Highlighting KCO’s philanthropic initiatives, he explained how the funds raised support educational scholarships, medical aid, and NGOs in both the UAE and India.

Prominent sponsors like Ronald Pinto, Michael D’Souza, Leo Rodrigues, and others were felicitated, along with media partners and photographers. The meticulous planning and dedication of the KCO team, led by Serrao and Correa, were evident in the event’s seamless execution.

Closing with celebrations

The night ended on a high note with a raffle draw offering exciting prizes, including a Sony TV and Samsung mobile phone. A sumptuous buffet dinner and a final Baila dance session added to the evening’s charm.

As the event concluded with the traditional Laudate, the KCO team promised an even grander celebration next year, marking 30 years of their remarkable journey.
