Dubai: Konkan Yuva, in collaboration with St. Mary’s Mangalorean Community (SMMC) and Young Adults Ministry Dubai (YAM), successfully organised a blood donation drive at the Dubai Health Center, Jaddaf, from 7.30 PM onwards.

The initiative witnessed overwhelming support from volunteers and donors who came together in the spirit of service and community welfare.

Record Participation and Donations

A total of 204 individuals registered for the drive, with more than 190 participants turning up at the venue. Out of these, 161 donors successfully donated blood — marking the highest number of donations achieved in Konkan Yuva’s blood donation drives to date.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of qualified medical professionals to support UAE blood bank reserves and promote awareness about the importance of regular voluntary blood donation.

Commitment to Community Welfare

Founded in February 2005, Konkan Yuva has consistently worked towards building a “home away from home” for Konkani youth in the UAE. Guided by the spiritual leadership of St Mary’s Church, Dubai, the organisation regularly hosts initiatives that foster unity, faith, and social responsibility within the community.

The blood donation campaign, organised during the season of Ramadan and Lent, reflects Konkan Yuva’s continued dedication to humanitarian causes and meaningful community engagement.

Gratitude and Acknowledgment

Key representatives, including Mr Ashwin Pinto (President, Konkan Yuva), Mr Joseph Mathias (SMMC Coordinator), and Ms Rachael Joseph (YAM Coordinator), expressed heartfelt gratitude to all donors, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.

The programme concluded with a powerful reminder: “Be the Reason Someone Smiles – Donate Blood!”

The success of the drive further strengthens Konkan Yuva’s resolve to continue organising impactful social initiatives in the years ahead.
