Crpf Personnel Killed By Lightning In Chhattisgarh

In a tragic incident on Thursday, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed after being struck by lightning in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. The 23-year-old, identified as Kamlesh Hemla, was part of the 85th Corps Battalion and was stationed at the Kavadgaon camp.

The incident occurred in the Kavadgaon area, under the jurisdiction of the Gangalur police station. Hemla and his team were on an area operation when heavy rains and lightning struck. Despite immediate medical treatment, Hemla’s condition worsened, and he succumbed to his injuries en route to Bijapur.

His body was taken to Bijapur District Hospital for a post-mortem and was later returned to his family in Santoshpur village for the last rites. The police have registered a case of accidental death, and the 85th Corps Battalion officials have expressed their condolences.

This incident follows another CRPF personnel’s death on August 29, who was killed in an accident during an anti-Naxal operation.
