A tragic incident occurred in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura area where a 28-year-old gym owner was fatally stabbed by a group of men, according to police reports on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Sumit Chaudhary, also operated a tour and travel business and was assaulted outside his residence in Gamri Extension late Wednesday night.

DCP Joy Tirkey of the North East district stated that Chaudhary was sitting outside his house when he had a confrontation with three to four men. They proceeded to attack him with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds on his face, neck, chest, and abdomen. He sustained over 21 stab wounds to his face alone.

Despite being rushed to JPC Hospital, Chaudhary was pronounced dead upon arrival. The DCP mentioned that Chaudhary had previously been involved in a case of attempted murder and was out on bail at the time of the incident.

Currently, authorities are reviewing CCTV footage in efforts to identify the perpetrators.

Sumit Chaudhary is survived by his wife and a three-year-old son.
