In a significant crackdown on narcotics, Mangaluru’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a major supplier involved in distributing drugs across the city, allegedly sourcing them from overseas. Acting on reliable information, CCB officials intercepted the suspect, H Mohammad Hafeez, 23, at Kudroli, where he was reportedly selling banned hydro weed ganja to locals and students.

The raid led to the confiscation of narcotics worth approximately Rs 30.85 lakh, including 300 grams of hydro weed ganja valued at Rs 30 lakh and 2.5 kg of regular ganja estimated at Rs 75,000. Other items seized included a mobile phone and a digital scale. The arrested individual is a resident of Puttur Taluk, with a temporary address in Thokkottu, Mangaluru.

Preliminary findings suggest the hydro weed ganja originated from Thailand. Police suspect a larger network may be behind this illegal trade, with investigations underway to identify other participants.

This operation, initiated under the guidance of Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal and directed by Deputy Commissioners Siddharth Goyal and B P Dinesh Kumar, was led by ACP Manoj Kumar Naik, supported by Inspectors Shyam Sundar H M, PSI Sharanappa Bhandari, and additional CCB personnel. A case has been registered at the Mangaluru North Police Station, and efforts to make Mangaluru drug-free continue.
