Chintamani : Tragedy struck in Nimmakayalahalli, Murugamalla Hobli, on Wednesday when three-year-old Gautham was found murdered. The accused, Gautham’s uncle Ranjit Kumar (31), has been charged with the crime. Ranjit, a diploma engineer reportedly suffering from mental illness, allegedly strangled the child with a blade before fleeing the scene.
The exact motive behind this heinous act remains unclear. Gautham had been playing near his old house on Wednesday evening when his uncle committed the crime and left him inside the residence.
After Gautham failed to return home at dusk, concerns were raised and a search ensued. Neighbors who had seen him playing earlier mentioned that he was last seen with his uncle near the old house. Sadly, by the time they located him inside the house, it was too late – Gautham had already passed away.
Law enforcement officers from Kencharlahalli Police Station, including Inspector Venkataravanappa and Sub-Inspector Sivakumar, arrived at the scene for investigation alongside SP DL Nagesh and DySP Muralidhar.
