In a heart-wrenching development, the parents of Renukaswamy, a victim of alleged torture and murder, have condemned Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his accomplices as “demons.” They expressed their anguish over a recently surfaced photograph showing Renukaswamy shirtless and pleading for mercy before his death. The photo, which displays numerous injury marks, has deeply affected the victim’s family, particularly his pregnant daughter-in-law.
Renukaswamy’s father, Kashinath S. Shivanagoudru, criticized Darshan and his associates for their alleged brutality. He lamented that despite his son’s pleas, they showed no mercy, exacerbating the family’s suffering. Shivanagoudru also voiced frustration that Darshan and his gang did not seek police intervention.
The case revolves around Renukaswamy’s alleged obscene messages to Darshan, which reportedly led to his murder. Renukaswamy’s body was discovered on June 9 near a stormwater drain. Accused Raghavendra, a fan of Darshan, allegedly lured Renukaswamy under the guise of a meeting with the actor, where he was purportedly tortured and killed. The post-mortem report indicates death by shock and hemorrhage due to multiple blunt injuries.
Police sources have identified Pavithra, an accused in the case, as a major instigator and participant in the crime.
