Davanagere: In a significant development, Channagiri police successfully traced and returned 39 stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners on Wednesday. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Rudrappa S. oversaw the distribution of the recovered mobiles to their owners at the town police station.

Ujjanakoppa emphasized the need for public awareness regarding the safeguarding of expensive mobile devices in light of these thefts.

The recovery effort was prompted by a total of 26 complaints filed at Channagiri police station, with an additional 10 complaints at Basavapatna police station and 3 at Santebennur police station. Utilizing advanced technology, law enforcement personnel managed to locate and seize the stolen mobile phones.

The commendable efforts were witnessed by Chief Police Inspector (CPI) Linganagowda Negaluru and Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Gurushanthaya, who were present during the distribution process.

This successful recovery serves as a testament to both law enforcement’s dedication and technological advancements aiding in combating crime.
