Dharwad, EXPRESS News: The Hubballi-Dharwad city police conducted an extensive area domination exercise within the Dharwad Town Police Station jurisdiction on Saturday, focusing on curbing criminal activities and upholding law and order.
During the operation, 152 individuals were booked for various offenses. The list included:
- 25 rowdy sheeters
- 15 members of local mobs
- 15 individuals involved in matka gambling
- 26 accused in gambling cases
- 10 linked to cricket betting
- 30 individuals charged under the COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act)
- 20 for violating traffic rules
- 11 for creating social media reels that incited public fear
The initiative, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) from the Hubballi CEN Police Station, aims to enhance community safety and deter criminal activities. The police department emphasized the importance of such operations in maintaining public order and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities.
