In a significant law enforcement operation, the Hubballi-Dharwad City Police conducted an extensive area domination exercise in the Keshwapur Police Station jurisdiction last night, responding to numerous public complaints about disturbances in the area.
Ordered by Police Commissioner Shashikumar, the operation led to the apprehension of 65 individuals. Among those taken into custody were 20 known rowdy-sheeters and 45 individuals caught consuming alcohol in public spaces, such as empty layouts and streets.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) stated, “We’ve booked 50 individuals under the Karnataka Police Act. This operation sends a clear message that public nuisance will not be tolerated in our city.”
Offenders received stern warnings, and authorities are currently reviewing their past and present activities. Parents of younger troublemakers have been instructed to provide proper guidance to their wards.
The operation was a coordinated effort involving various police divisions, including the DCP (Crime & Traffic), CCB, and all ACPs and Police Inspectors from the North Sub-Division.
A senior police official, speaking anonymously, confirmed that such operations would continue regularly. “Our aim is to ensure the safety and peace of our law-abiding citizens,” the official said.
