Gadag: A case has been registered at the CEN police station in Gadag against six individuals for allegedly collecting ₹3.30 crore from 39 people with the promise of securing them government jobs. The accused, including Anandeshwar Hiremath, his wife Nidhi, and four others, are said to have cheated people from Gadag, Dharwad, Bagalkote, and Koppal districts between December 2020 and December 2021.

Despite the government not filling any posts due to COVID-19, the accused collected money from the victims, promising them jobs. However, no one was given a government job, and the money was not returned. When some victims demanded their money back, the accused returned ₹70 lakh through checks and RTGS but still owe ₹2.59 crore.

The complainant, Nagabhushan Swami Hiremath, is the uncle of the main accused, Anandeshwar Hiremath. The police have taken action to apprehend the accused, who are currently at large. This case highlights the ongoing issue of job scams and the need for caution when dealing with employment promises.
