Dharwad: A tragic incident occurred in Venkatapura, Dharwad, on Friday night, resulting in the loss of one life and injuring two others. Yallappa (45), his wife Hunumavva, and daughter Yellavva were residing in a tent next to a house when disaster struck.
Due to continuous rainfall, the wall of the adjacent house collapsed onto the tent at around 9 pm, causing severe damage. Yallappa suffered fatal head injuries and succumbed to his wounds while being rushed to the hospital. His wife and daughter, Hunumavva and Yellavva, respectively, were also injured and are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.
Sub-Divisional Officer Shah Alam stated that Yallappa’s family relied on daily wages for their livelihood. The incident has left the family in a state of distress, with their primary breadwinner gone and two members injured.
The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the wall collapse. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring structural integrity, especially during adverse weather conditions.
