In Bihar’s Rohtas district, a Class X student lost his life, and two others sustained injuries after a violent clash erupted between two student groups over accusations of cheating during their matriculation examination.

The altercation initially began on Wednesday as a physical scuffle but escalated the following day when gunshots were fired. Three students were struck by bullets, with one sustaining injuries in his leg and another in his back. Tragically, one student succumbed to his wounds.

Law enforcement officials have taken possession of the deceased’s body and initiated a detailed probe. Tensions remain high, prompting authorities to deploy a heavy police force. The injured students are receiving medical care at Narayan Medical College and Hospital, which has been transformed into a high-security zone.

Following the tragic death, grieving villagers and the victim’s relatives gathered in protest, demanding swift justice and threatening to obstruct a key roadway. However, police officers successfully engaged with the demonstrators, convincing them to disperse peacefully.

Footage from the protest site depicted numerous young men sitting in defiance across the road, while another clip showed armed personnel attempting to manage the situation. A burning water tank, dragged by a tractor, was seen blocking traffic, adding to the chaos.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as the investigation unfolds.
