Formal recognition at the DK Zilla Panchayat quarterly meeting· Karnataka Minister for Health and Family Welfare in attendance
A student from Mangaluru. The only student in Karnataka to score 599 out of 600. Honored by the district she belongs to.
Ms. Princilla Cardoza, a student of CFAL Institute, Mangaluru, and the sole Karnataka II PUC State Rank 1 holder in science for 2025–26, was formally honoured by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration at the Zilla Panchayat’s quarterly meeting. The recognition was presented in the presence of Karnataka’s Minister for Health and Family Welfare, and district officials. Ms. Princilla received a memento and commendation from the district administration, an acknowledgement that her achievement belongs not just to her institution, but to Mangaluru.
Ms. Princilla is the only student in Karnataka to have scored 599 out of 600 in the Science stream of the II PUC examination for 2025–26. She achieved full marks in five of her six subjects. She was not preparing exclusively for the board examination, she was simultaneously preparing for JEE, NEET, and KCET at CFAL, where the curriculum is built around the conceptual demands of competitive entrance examinations. The board results came from the same understanding that her entrance preparation demands.
This recognition belongs to Princilla. It also belongs to every family in Mangaluru that believed a student from this city could be the best in the state.
The Dakshina Kannada District Administration’s decision to formally recognize Ms. Princilla at the Zilla Panchayat reflects something important: that academic achievement at the highest level is a civic matter, not merely an institutional one. When a student from Mangaluru finishes first in Karnataka, the district has a stake in that. The formal recognition makes that stake visible.
For CFAL, the recognition confirms what the institution has long held: that rigorous, honest teaching, the kind that prepares students for JEE, NEET, and KCET without sacrificing the depth, produces students who perform at the state’s highest level. Ms. Princilla’s result, and the district’s response to it, together make a case that is difficult to overstate: Mangaluru can produce the best student in Karnataka.
