At the 43rd Mangalore University Convocation, Aradhana Shenoy of MAPS College, Mangaluru, stood out as a top achiever, securing three gold medals with a perfect 650/650 in her sixth-semester BCom exams. She credited her chartered accountancy (CA) coaching for deepening her subject knowledge. Aradhana bagged the Shrimathi Rukmini Shetty Memorial Sudhakar Shetty Gold Medal, Dr HV Shankarnarayana Gold Medal, and ICAI Gold Medal, along with three cash prizes. Having completed BCom with Integrated CA, she is now preparing for the CA Intermediate Unit 2B exam.

Despite a grueling schedule, leaving home at 6:30 AM and returning by 9 PM, she never expected such a feat. “My parents are thrilled,” she shared. Her mother, Vinitha Shenoy, expressed immense pride, recalling how Aradhana was born after 15 years of marriage, fulfilling their long-held prayers.

Meanwhile, Veekshitha, an MA Kannada graduate, also defied challenges to earn a gold medal. Coming from a financially strained background, her mother, Sujatha, supports the family by working as a sweeper at University College. Veekshitha received the BN Gupta Trustee Janmabhoomi Press Trust Memorial Cash Prize for securing the highest CGPA. Grateful to her teachers and Mangalore University faculty for financial aid, she aims to build a career in teaching and is currently pursuing BEd, with plans for an MEd in the future.
