Mangalore University Supports Bangladeshi Students Amid Political Crisis

Mangalore University’s International Student Centre held a crucial meeting on Friday, August 9, to extend strong support to Bangladeshi students studying in India, in light of the severe political turmoil and violence in Bangladesh.

The session, led by Prof. AM Khan from PMVB and Prof. Boja Poojary from the Department of Chemistry, was convened in the absence of Dr. BH Shekar, the Director of the International Students Centre. The meeting aimed to address the mounting concerns and emotional distress among Bangladeshi students, who are grappling with the uncertainty and instability affecting their families back home.

The gathering provided a vital platform for students to voice their fears and share their personal experiences. Many students expressed deep anxiety over their families’ safety. Tapti Biswas, a participant, described the daily distress of not knowing if her loved ones are safe, highlighting the emotional strain faced by those far from home.
